The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspection set forth in the Commercial Item Description, where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements (See Section 6, Ordering data).
B. Sampling: All sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105.
(1) Sampling for Visual Inspection. A random sample of dictionaries shall be taken from each lot. The inspection level shall be S-4 with an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one dictionary.
(2) Sampling for Dimensional Inspection. A random sample of dictionaries shall be taken from each lot. The inspection level shall be S-3 with an AQL of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one dictionary.
(3) Sampling for Tests. A random sample of dictionaries shall be taken from each lot in accordance with each respective TAPPI test method. The sample unit shall be one dictionary.
C. Inspections.
(1) Visual Examination. Samples are taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.1. -shall be examined to verify that the superficial product requirements are in compliance with Section 1.
(2) Tests. Samples taken in accordance with paragraph 4.B.3 shall be subjected to the following tests to demonstrate consistency in product functionality, durability, and performance, expectations.
(a) For bursting strength use TAPPI test method T-403
(b) For basis weight use TAPPI test method T-410
(c) For tearing resistance use TAPPI test method T-414
(d) For opacity use TAPPI test method T-425
(e) For brightness use TAPPI test method T-452
